Many investors have bought properties near universities, in order to take advantage of the lucrative rental yields the student market has to offer.
It’s important to know what students are looking for, in order to attract good quality student tenants.
Here are our top tips:
• This generation of students (Generation Z), mostly consider themselves environmentalists, so showing them that you are also aiming to improve the environment is a good strategy. Consider fitting solar panels and energy saving light bulbs etc.
• Make sure your property has Broadband and Wifi, as these are crucial to students as well as close proximity to public transport and amenities.
• Competitive rent - Generation Z are also more frugal than their predecessors and they are more likely to look for a property with lower rent.
• Almost 30% of Generation Z have said that they don’t drink at all and fewer students go out drinking and are increasingly looking, for properties that are suitable for entertaining their friends in.
