The Queensland Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) has made the following changes to their services:
Lodging a rental bond online
Landlords and tenants can lodge a bond directly
with the RTA through the Bond Lodgement
web service.
It’s a
quick, secure and convenient way to lodge a single bond, and payment options
include credit card, debit card and BPAY. As a landlord, you can choose to
lodge a tenant’s bond yourself via the new service, or send your approved
prospective tenant the link so they can lodge the bond directly with the RTA.
You will be notified as soon as the bond has been lodged with the RTA.
More information is available on the website.
If you’d like assistance, they have dedicated
Contact Centre staff available to walk you through the Bond Lodgement web
service.
From 1
October 2019, the Bond Lodgement web service will replace the
option to upload scanned PDF copies of paper Bond lodgement forms via the RTA
website. Lodging a bond online is faster, easier and more convenient than
printing, completing, scanning and uploading a paper Bond lodgement form via
the old PDF upload facility, or posting forms to the RTA. Posted lodgements
will remain available for customers who cannot access RTA web services.
Rental
bond refunds
The RTA is developing an online bond refund
service to make the refund process more convenient. This web service is
expected to launch in the coming months and will ultimately replace the PDF
upload facility for scanned forms.

Newsroom for more
information on timings.
Paper-free RTA from 1 January
2020
From 1
January 2020 the RTA will no longer print forms and
publications. Customers will still be able to download forms and publications
from the RTA website, and order single copies via the Contact Centre.
For more information about these changes,
visit rta.qld.gov.au or call Contact Centre on 1300 366 311 (8.30am–5pm Monday to Friday).
Don’t forget to upload all documents relating to the tenancy onto
RealRenta to form part of the tenancy file.
