The Victorian Government has introduced new legislation to make Airbnb landlords pay their neighbours compensation of up to $2,000, for property damage caused by guests.
In addition, unruly guests could face fines of up to $1,100 for a range of breaches that include:
* Unreasonable noise
* Bad Behaviour
* Causing a health, safety or security hazard
Consumer Affairs will assist in conciliating any Airbnb disputes that cannot be resolved, through the normal owner's corporation process.
