On 12 April 2019 Solar Victoria announced that the program for solar PV was fully subscribed for 2018-19, with the program re-opening on 1 July 2019.
Since then, Solar Victoria has become aware that a number of Victorians have
installed new solar PV systems without applying or contacting Solar Victoria
for eligibility confirmation before applications were closed.
In many cases, these people installed their systems based on misleading
advice from solar providers.
The Victorian Government believes people who bought solar installations in good
faith should not be disadvantaged.
As such, if you installed a solar PV system between 19 August 2018 and 12 April 2019(inclusive), we are now providing you the opportunity to apply for a solar PV
rebate.
You will still need to meet all other eligibility requirements of the
program and submit your application by
Friday, 14 June 2019. No further applications can be accepted
after this time.
If the "date of completion of works” provided on your Certificate of Electrical Safety shows that your solar PV
system was installed between 19 August 2018 and 12 April 2019 and you wish to
apply for a rebate you must contact Solar Victoria by emailing rebateapplications@solar.vic.gov.auand we will provide you with the forms required to lodge your claim. You can
also call 1300 363 744 to request the forms.
Your email should include your name, email address, and telephone contact
number. You will still be required to demonstrate that you meet all program
eligibility requirements and provide documentary evidence to demonstrate this.
In instances where Solar Victoria has received information that a solar
provider has intentionally misled its customers, it will continue to refer
these allegations to Consumer Affairs Victoria.
